Today, Allergan makes sure that women considering breast Implant surgery have more options than ever before. The Natrelle™ Collection offers a wide array of silicone and saline breast Implant options that help your surgeon to find the fit that’s right for you.
Only a surgeon with the flexibility to offer a range of implant options can deliver the fit that’s right for you. Select a surgeon who uses well-accepted principles of surgical planning to evaluate your body type and tissue characteristics, understands your expectations and offers the Natrelle™ Collection of Breast Implants. From the many options available, you will together select the appropriate implant based upon your goals of surgery and your unique physical characteristics. This preoperative planning process is critically important in achieving the best surgical result because it helps you and your surgeon to know exactly which implant size, shape, filler and profile fits both your goals and body type.
Depending on the look you wish to achieve, you and your surgeon will choose from a variety of styles, shapes, sizes and textures to precisely match your goals and body type.
The surgeon will start by measuring your breast base width. Implants come in a variety of widths. You and your surgeon will also want to discuss cup size. Implants come in a variety of volumes and, generally, the larger you want your cup size, the larger the breast implant the surgeon will consider.
Your surgeon will also evaluate your existing tissue to determine if you have enough tissue to cover the breast implant. A breast implant that is too large for your tissue can result in excessive stretching of the skin and result in the need for future corrective surgeries. In addition, the implant edges may be apparent or visible postoperatively. Also, excessively large breast implants may speed up the effects of gravity and result in earlier droop or sag.
You may decide to re-shape your breast. Some implants give the breast a more rounded appearance, while others create a breast shaped with a gentle slope in the upper pole and fullness in the lower portion of the breast. The anatomical shape of the Natrelle™ 410 Breast Implant (Natrelle 410) most closely mimics the dimensions of the natural breast and provides greater shape retention.
There are two approved options for breast implant fillers: saline and silicone. While each filler has been approved by Health Canada for breast implants, they have distinct features and benefits. The unique qualities of today’s silicone gel-filled breast implants help make it the filler of choice for patients in countries where both saline-filled and silicone gel-filled breast implants are widely available. The Natrelle™ Collection’s cohesive silicone gels offer a range of cohesivity, from very soft to more firm, so your implant will feel the way you want it to. The greater cohesivity of the Natrelle™ 410 Breast Implant (Natrelle 410) allows the distribution of the gel to be predictably controlled within the shell for a smoother look and feel.
The profile is the forward projection of the implant from the chest wall. The Natrelle™ Collection of Breast Implants is available in a variety of profiles: low, moderate, midrange and high (full).
Implants can be either smooth or textured. The texture of the implant has little or no effect on how the implant looks or feels in the body. Textured surface implants were designed to reduce the chance of capsular contracture.
The following may cause implants to be more palpable (more easily felt): textured implants, larger implants, subglandular placement, and the amount of skin/tissue available to cover the implants.
